Radiosophy
Announces Affordable, Transportable HD Radio™ Receiver
MultiStream™ prototype on display at NAB, product shipping in June
LAS VEGAS (April 19, 2005) —Radiosophy™ announced today the first
transportable HD Radio receiver at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB)
convention in Las Vegas. The Radiosophy MultiStream™ is a high-quality
radio, which handles any number of multiple digital streams elegantly, along
with existing HD Radio and analog signals.
A
prototype will be on display in the iBiquity Digital booth
#N2437 from April 18-21.
The
removable receiving unit measures less than 6” x 4” and
the complete radio is less than 16” x 7”. It was
designed around the latest generation of HD Radio technology
and delivers the crystal clear sound without compromise. Connecting
to optical out delivers a totally digital experience.
“We’ve
gone to great lengths to make sure MultiStream meets the present
and future needs of our customers,” commented Richard
Skeie, President/CEO. “Without sacrificing quality, we
gave it an appealing price for the masses with unprecedented
versatility in HD Radio receivers. The MultiStream receives
and graphically displays everything mainstream AM/FM might
choose to offer and it connects with virtually any electronics
a person might own.”
When
broadcasters add a second digital stream and more, the MultiStream
receiver will allow listeners to receive the additional programming.
The
radio will begin shipping in June with a projected MSRP of
$249. Radiosophy has been taking pre-orders from volume purchasers.
